Everyone has the Right to….Play competition

Heall the World with Words
An interesting idea and a great oppurtunity for both emerging and established writers.
Rolling script submission service for plays with Human Rights at their heart.
Everyone Has the Right is a rolling script submission service (ie there is no deadline) for plays with human rights at their heart. A joint initiative of Ice and Fire with Amnesty International UK, Everyone Has the Right provides a natural home for writers exploring human rights stories to create surprising and entertaining theatre.
Writers are invited to submit theatre scripts that they believe fulfil the aim of Everyone Has the Right. Feedback will be provided by a member of the Ice and Fire team to the writer on how effective the play is in terms of theatricality, dialogue, and characterisation as well as whether it successfully fulfils the brief of exploring a human rights story.
The best plays will receive professional rehearsed readings at Amnesty International UK’s central London Human Rights Action Centre or a partner theatre. Those writers that they feel would benefit from longer term development will be paired with a dramaturg for more in-depth work on their script.
We accept plays written for the stage, in English, which have not been professionally produced in the UK.

Plays can be of any length, but we will only read full scripts (no outlines or synopses please) written for theatre. We cannot accept scripts by email or fax. We are interested in scripts for all ages, so if you write theatre for young people please consider submitting to this scheme.

About jameswfrobertsdapoet

Emerging Poet and Writer. From Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. I present a show called Crazy Talk/Word Berserk, on www.phoenixfm.org.because I believe in what Phoenix has to offer. No where else will you get the diversity of Gospel, Country music shows, Koori themed shows and Poetry and Experimental music? My father, Bryan did a show on 3CCC in the 1980’s called the Keyboard Hour for a bout 8 years, until he died. That is partly why I joined Phoenix but mainly it’s because of the diversity we offer people and also I really do feel that we are an important vehicle, an important voice for the Community at Large. My interests are Poetry, Literature, Music, Movies, Cultural Awareness and Philosophical pursuits. My show is basically a Late Night Radio Show for Artists, Poets, Musicians and Creative Thinkers of all types to come and inform, enjoy, entertain and inspire each other. So join me and my guests from the local Artistic Community to be inspired, to be entertained and informed
